1929. HMV Model 145 Bijou Grand gramophone.
This gramophone was purchased from a friend of mine in 1973. It is in very good condition. Made of Oak.
The original price of this HMV gramophone in 1929 was about was £30. It has a 12-inch turntable,
soundbox No. 5a, quadrant speed control and self-releasing automatic brake no.3. The height is
35-inches and it is 18-inches x 17-inches. This particular spring motor stores enough energy to
play both sides of a 10-inch record before having to wind the mechanism again with the handle.
The sound reproduction is actually pretty good. This is due to the excellent 5A soundbox.
